First International Conference on Health Promotion in Educational Communities
Health is at the heart of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, and its promotion is the basis for achieving sustainable development goals. Universities also occupy a prominent position in societies and represent ideal places for developing and enhancing health promotion measures. Thus, Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University (PNU), as the first “Health Promoting University” in the region as accredited by the WHO, is pleased to hold its first international conference on health promotion in educational communities. This unique conference will be held from Monday, January 31st to Wednesday, 2nd February 2022, with participation of 28 speakers from around the world.
The conference will primarily focus on the role of health promotion and its impact on public health at large.
The conference aims is to inspire leaders and decision makers in the educational sectors as well as partners in both governmental and private sectors to work towards meeting the community health standards based on Alma-Ata charter, which was the cornerstone of the concept of health promotion in 1978.
The conference will indeed cover many topics including the role of scientific research in health promotion coupled with the role of community participation and voluntary services
Furthermore, the conference will shed light on various themes in the promotion of health such as preventive medicine, infectious diseases, physical fitness, balanced nutrition, mental health, women's health, as well as capacity and disability.
This conference comes at a time when collective efforts are being pooled to face one of the major global public health challenges of our time; the COVID 19 pandemic
The Main Objectives of ICHP-EC-2022 are to:
- Support effective health promotion activities in educational settings
- Highlight the importance of community-based intervention in educational settings
- Explore innovative approaches to healthy lifestyles
